DETAILS

Workshop: Simulation exercise
Critical incident management is at the core of most organisations, whether it is an individual or collective situation such as a missing employee or a terrorist attack. Are the measures you already put in place robust enough to effectively respond to an escalating security and/or medical situation?

This critical incident management simulation exercise inspired by real cases will allow you to test and share your own experience, network and learn from our experts' best practices for managing Duty of Care during an incident.
Panel Discussion: Influencing the board
This panel discussion will explore a topic that is front of mind in many organisations: how to be heard by the board/executive management. Often, health or security risk management becomes an agenda item when a crisis or a personal event triggers senior level buy-in. But how can security, HR, HSE, health, risk and travel professionals make their case heard and how can they better present their cases to the leaders within their organisation? Our panel of experts will share their thoughts and best practices on how to frame, structure and present security and health initiatives to ensure success.
Deep dive sessions:

1 Top 5 fails in managing the latest natural disasters
Speaker: Harriet Brennan

Recent months have seen an increase in the frequency and impact of global natural disasters, from extreme weather to earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, and these will likely continue to pose a significant challenge throughout 2019. The immediate after-effects following a large scale natural disaster can have serious implications for business operations and a mobile workforce.

This session will examine the events of 2018, exploring the lessons learned, including how to make informed decisions in the face of a possible information vacuum, coupled with the challenges of communicating with and accounting for personnel affected.

2 Sustainable Development Goals, good health and wellbeing: Why, what, how, wow!
Speaker: Dr Anthony Renshaw

Businesses are increasingly committed to helping the world achieve its sustainable development goals. Increasingly this is filtering to multiple layers of an organisation. Health and safety are pivotal to this story, and the aim of this session is to provide attendees with knowledge to arm them on the topic, inspire with examples of leading practices and provide a practical set of tools with which to bring health and wellbeing into the forefront of their company’s strategic agenda.

NB. These sessions are limited and will be based on first come first serve
